1.8. Check and adjustment of gaps of valves on engines 1,8 and 2,0 of l (MLA)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

You carry out check and adjustment of gaps of valves on the cold engine (temperature of cooling liquid of 21 °C) and the head of cylinders established on the block of cylinders.

  1. Remove a casing from the engine.
  1. Uncover an oil-filling mouth.
  1. Turn out screws and remove the central cover.
  1. Remove the top casing of a gear belt.
    1. Turn out bolts of fastening of the top casing of a gear belt and remove it.
  1. Uncover a head of cylinders.
    1. Disconnect high-voltage wires, at the same time do not use to them the considerable efforts.
    2. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case from a head of cylinders.
    3. Disconnect an accelerator cable from a head of cylinders.
    4. Turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders and uncover also laying.

During the applying of considerable efforts or a bend of high-voltage wires injury of the central vein of a wire is possible.

  1. Install the piston in the first cylinder in the top dead point in a compression step.
    1. Turn a bent shaft clockwise and combine a groove on a pulley with a tag of "T" on the lower casing of a gear belt.

b. Check that the opening on a pulley of the camshaft is combined with a tag on a bearing cover, otherwise, turn a bent shaft on one turn (360 °).

  1. Check valvate gaps.
    1. Check only valvate gaps shown in the drawing (the piston is installed in the first cylinder in VMT in a compression step).
  • Measure by the flat probe a gap between adjusting laying of a pusher and the basis of a cam of the camshaft.
  • Write down value of the measured gap. This value awaking it is necessary for calculation of the required thickness of adjusting laying.

Valvate gap (temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C):

– inlet valves: 0,20 mm;
– final valves: 0,28 mm.

Valvate gap (temperature of cooling liquid of 80 °C):

– inlet valves: 0,29 mm;
– final valves: 0,34 mm.

Maximum permissible valvate gap:

– inlet valves: 0,12–0,28 mm;
– final valves: 0,20–0,36 mm.

b. Turn a bent shaft on one turn (360 °) clockwise and combine a groove on a pulley with a tag of "T" on the lower casing of a gear belt.

c. Check only valvate gaps shown in the drawing (the piston is installed in the first cylinder in VMT in a compression step).

  • Measure by the flat probe a gap between adjusting laying of a pusher and the basis of a cam of the camshaft.
  • Write down value of the measured gap. This value will be necessary for calculation of the required thickness of adjusting laying.
  1. Adjust gaps of inlet and final valves.
    1. Turn a bent shaft so that the camshaft cam contour on the adjusted valve was directed up.

b. The special tool (09220 - 2D000) press a valve pusher, insert a stopper between the camshaft and a pusher and remove the special tool.

c. The small screw-driver or a magnet get adjusting laying.

d. Measure by a micrometer thickness of the removed adjusting laying.
e. Calculate thickness of new adjusting laying so that the valvate gap was in limits of the set size.

Valvate gap (temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C)

T: Thickness of the removed adjusting laying
A: The measured valvate gap
N: Thickness of new adjusting laying
Inlet valves: N = T (And – 0,20 mm)
Final valves: N = T (And – 0,28 mm)

f. Choose new adjusting laying with thickness of the closest to the calculated value.

As spare parts adjusting laying of 20 sizes with thickness, from 2,00 mm to 2,76 mm with a step of 0,04 mm is delivered.

g. Establish new adjusting laying on a valve pusher.
h. The special tool (09220 - 2D000) press a pusher of the valve and remove a stopper.
i. Repeatedly check a valvate gap.

Valvate gap (temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C):

– inlet valves: 0,20 mm;
– final valves: 0,28 mm.

Maximum permissible valvate gap:

– inlet valves: 0,17–0,23 mm;
– final valves: 0,25–0,31 mm.
