1.7. Camshafts

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case.
  1. Remove a pulley of the water pump and a bent shaft.
  1. Remove a casing of a gear belt.
  2. Take away a roller of a tension of a gear belt and temporarily enshrine it in this provision.
  3. Take off a gear belt from a camshaft pulley.
  4. Turn out screws and remove the central cover.
  5. Remove the block of coils of ignition.
  1. Turn out bolts and uncover a head of cylinders.
  1. Remove a camshaft pulley.
  1. Uncover bearings of the camshaft and a chain.
  1. Remove camshafts.
  2. Remove adjusting laying and pushers.
  1. Arrange adjusting laying and pushers in such order that at a sborks. If the working edge is worn-out or damaged, replace a sealing ring.
  2. Check the surface of the camshaft contacting to a sealing ring. If this surface is evenly worn-out, replace the camshaft. е they were established in initial provisions.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the camshaft for lack of uneven wear, cracks or damages.
  1. Measure height of each cam of the camshaft in two points.

Nominal height of cams of the camshaft of inlet valves:

- l engines 1,8 and 2,0, except CVVT: 44.820 mm;
- engines of 1,6 l: 43,4484 mm.

Nominal height of the camshaft of final valves:

- l engines 1,8 and 2,0, except CVVT: 44.720 mm;
- engines of 1,6 l: 43,8489 mm.

Minimum admissible height of cams of the camshaft of inlet valves:

- l engines 1,8 and 2,0, except CVVT: 44.720 mm;
- engines of 1,6 l: 42,9484 mm.

Minimum admissible height of the camshaft of final valves:

- l engines 1,8 and 2,0, except CVVT: 44.620 mm;
- engines of 1,6 l: 43,3489 mm.

  1. Check surfaces of cams for lack of uneven wear and damages.
  2. Check each bearing for absence of damage. If the working surface of the bearing is excessively damaged, replace a head of cylinders or a cover of the bearing of the camshaft.

Axial side play of the camshaft:

- l engines 1,8 and 2,0: 0,1–0,2 mm;
- engines of 1,6 l: 0,1–0,15 mm.

Forward sealing ring of the camshaft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check working edges of a sealing ring for lack of wear. If the working edge is worn-out or damaged, replace a sealing ring.
  1. Check the surface of the camshaft contacting to a sealing ring. If this surface is evenly worn-out, replace the camshaft.
