5.1.16. The lock of ignition (ST) and the switch of ranges (TR) in cars with the automatic transmission

After turn of a key in the ignition lock in situation START tension of the rechargeable battery moves to the switch of ranges (TR) and from it to the control unit of the engine.

If the lever of the selector is not in situation P or N, tension of the battery will not move to the control unit. On the basis of this signal the control unit defines an operating mode of the automatic transmission and supports the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine at optimum level.
