18:31. Heater of back glass
Defrosting of back glass is carried out by a heater which represents a number of the parallel conductors which are raised dust on glass. At a transmission of electric current conductors heat up and defreeze and clean off back glass from moisture. Current moves from the relay located in the block of safety locks of a motor compartment. If glass on was purified in 15 minutes, it is necessary to include repeatedly a heater on the second cycle, i.e. for 15 minutes.

For check of a heater of back glass wrap up the voltmeter probe an aluminum or tin foil to prevent damage of a conducting strip of a heater. For definition of break it is necessary to press a finger a foil and to move it along a conducting strip. |

- Start the engine and include a heater of back glass. Connect the negative probe of the voltmeter to "mass" of the car. In turn connect the voltmeter probe to the center of each conducting strip of a heater of back glass. The voltmeter has to show tension about 6 Century.

- If the voltmeter shows voltage of 12 V, so the conducting strip of a heater has break from outside between a point of connection of the voltmeter and the party of the heater connected to "weight".

- If the voltmeter shows voltage below than 0 V, so the conducting strip of a heater has break from outside between a point of connection of the voltmeter and the party of the heater connected to the positive plug of the rechargeable battery.

- For definition of a point of a gap move the probe on a conducting strip of a heater to the relevant party. A point where tension shown by the voltmeter sharply changed and is the place of a gap.

- Measure by an ohmmeter resistance of each conducting strip between the side plug of a heater and the center of each strip. The strip section having a gap will have resistance twice higher, than resistance of other strips of a heater.

Repair of a conducting strip of a heater

- For repair of a conducting strip of a heater prepare the following materials and tools:
– conducting weight;
– fine conducting weight;
– adhesive tape;
– solvent;
– brush.

- Wipe with solvent area of glass about a rupture of a conducting strip of a heater and paste strips of an adhesive tape from two parties of a conducting strip.

- Put three layers of conducting weight at an interval of 15 min. Remove an adhesive tape and wait, conducting weight will not dry yet. In 24 hours remove with a sharp knife surplus of conducting weight.

After restoration of a conducting strip of a heater you carry out purification of glass along a strip of a heater by a little humidified rags. |
