12.4. A power shaft with Birfield CV JOINTS (B. J.) and tripoidny type (T. J.)

Dismantling

  • Do not sort knot of a support of rollers.
  • For lubricant of CV JOINTS use only special lubricant.
  • At assembly of the CV JOINT it is necessary to establish new collars.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove collars and pull together a protective cover from the ball CV JOINT (T.J.) power shaft.

Be careful not to damage a protective cover.

  1. Special passatizha remove a lock ring and the hammer through a brass core bring down a support of rollers of tripoidny connection from a power shaft.
  1. Clear a support of rollers of tripoidny connection.
  2. Remove collars and pull together protective covers of the ball CV JOINT (B.J.) and Birfield CV JOINT (B.J.).

If the protective cover is reused before removal of a cover for its protection, wrap up vents of a power shaft an adhesive tape.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check a condition of shlits of a power shaft.
  2. Check for lack of traces of a rust, water and foreign objects in a protective cover of the Birfield CV JOINT (B.J.).
  3. Check a support of rollers of tripoidny connection for lack of wear or corrosion.
  4. Check deepening in the CV JOINT (T.J.) on lack of wear or corrosion.
  1. Check a dynamic damper for absence of damage.

Assembly

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installation of a cover for its protection wrap up vents of a power shaft from the tripoidny hinge (T.J.) adhesive tape.
  1. Apply lubricant on a power shaft and establish a cover.
Cars with l engines 1,6 and 1,8 with MKP
467,5 (2/0) mm
Cars with petrol engines of 2,0 l with AKP and diesel engines with MKP
469 (2/0) mm
  1. For installation of a dynamic damper arrange the Birfield CV JOINT (B.J.) on a straight line in relation to a shaft, establish a damper and fix it by a small collar.
  2. Enclose lubricant in a protective cover of the tripoidny CV JOINT (T.J.) also install a cover on the hinge.
  3. Establish collars of fastening of a cover of the CV JOINT of tripoidny type.
  4. Add so much lubricant how many it was wiped during check of the hinge to the Birfield CV JOINT.
  5. Establish covers.
  6. Fix a protective cover of the Birfield CV JOINT by collars.
  1. Fix covers so that length of a power shaft corresponded to the required values.

For control of pressure of air in a cover of the hinge of tripoidny type support the required distance between collars of fastening of a protective cover or length of a power shaft when tightening collars. Nominal length of power shafts is specified in the table.
