12.2. Power shaft

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Weaken nuts of fastening of a forward wheel.
  2. Lift the car and fix on support.
  1. Turn off nuts and remove a forward wheel.
  1. Remove the forelock, turn off a koronchaty nut and remove a washer of fastening of a power shaft to a nave of a forward wheel.
  1. Take the forelock and turn off a nut of fastening of a pin of the spherical hinge of a tip of steering thirst for a rotary fist. A stripper 09568–34000 squeeze out a pin of the spherical hinge from a rotary fist.
  1. Remove a support and fix by a soft wire it on a forward rack.
  1. Stripper 09568–34000 disconnect the spherical hinge of the lower lever from a rotary fist.
  2. Remove the rotation frequency sensor from a rotary fist.
  1. Note situation and turn out bolts of fastening of the lower part of a rack of a forward suspension bracket to a rotary fist.
  1. The kapron hammer beat out a power shaft from a nave of a forward wheel. If the power shaft densely sits in a nave of a forward wheel, spray impregnating aerosol solvent on area of shlits and then repeatedly screw a nut with a fillet so that it settled down flush with a shaft end face. Striking a nut with the brass hammer, beat out a power shaft from a nave.
  1. Reject outside a rotary fist and get a power shaft from a nave of a forward wheel.
  2. Merge transmission liquid from the transmission.
  1. Insert mount between the internal CV JOINT of a power shaft and the transmission and easy blow to mount take a power shaft from the transmission.
  • Not to damage a case of the transmission and the CV JOINT use mount very carefully.
  • Do not insert mount very deeply not to damage an oil sealing ring.
  • Do not pull for a power shaft as at the same time hinges of equal angular speeds will be damaged.
  1. Get a power shaft from the transmission.
  • Establish instead of power shafts special caps in order that dirt did not get to the transmission.
  • Properly support a power shaft.
  • Every time at removal of a power shaft replace a sealing ring of differential.
  • After a detachment of a power shaft from a nave be careful not to damage the ABS sensor and a gear rotor of the sensor on driving to a shaft.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check protective covers of CV JOINTS of a power shaft for absence of damage and hardenings of rubber.
  2. Check spherical hinges for lack of wear.
  3. Check vents at end faces of a power shaft for lack of wear and damages.
  1. Check a quencher of dynamic fluctuations for lack of cracks and wear.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Grease a working edge of an oil sealing ring of differential.
  1. Establish a new lock ring on the internal end of a power shaft. A push insert a power shaft into the transmission, at the same time the section of a lock ring has to settle down from below.
  2. After installation pull a power shaft outside and be convinced that it is reliably recorded by a round lock ring.
  1. Establish a brake board, a nave, a brake disk and the bearing of a wheel in a rotary fist.

Be careful not to damage a brake board and a sealing ring.

  1. Install the Birfield CV JOINT in a rotary fist.
  2. Almost rotary fist has to be installed in the lower lever along with installation of the Birfield CV JOINT in a rotary fist.

Be careful not to damage the ABS sensor and a gear rotor of the sensor on driving to a shaft.

  1. Connect a rotary fist from a resistant forward suspension bracket and fix them by bolts and nuts, having tightened their moment 75–90 N • m.
  1. Establish a pin of the spherical hinge of the lower lever in a rotary fist and fix by a nut, having tightened its moment 60–72 N • m.
  2. Establish a pin of the spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft in a rotary fist and fix by a nut.
  3. After installation, manually check smoothness of rotation of a power shaft.
  1. Establish a washer under a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave by the convex party directed outside then screw a koronchaty nut and record it the forelock.
  1. Fill in transmission liquid in the transmission.
  2. Establish a wheel.
  3. Check the angles of installation of forward wheels.
  4. Check an ABS sensor signal.
