3.4. Replacement of an oil filter

All Hyundai engines are equipped with a high-quality, disposable oil filter. This filter is recommended as the replacement filter on all cars. For ensuring normal operation of the engine only high-quality filters have to be used.

When replacing the filter be convinced that rubber laying is completely removed from an old oil filter from the privalochny surface of the block of cylinders.

When replacing engine oil be careful as oil hotter and it is possible to get burns.

Petrol engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Special key turn out an oil filter.
  1. Grease with a thin layer of pure engine oil a rubber sealing ring of a new oil filter.
  1. Screw an oil filter and tighten it the required moment. Inhaling moment: 12–16 N • m.
  1. Start the engine and check lack of leak of oil
  2. After a stop of the engine check the level of oil and, if necessary, bring it to norm.

Diesel engines


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Weaken a stopper of discharge of oil with a copper washer and merge a small amount of engine oil from an oil filter.
  1. Weaken a plastic top cover before emergence of a sealing ring of round section, then completely merge engine oil. (Use a wrench 09263 – 27100).
  2. Remove the top cover. Make sure that the filtering element of an oil filter is removed together with a plastic top cover.
  3. Replace on new the filtering element of an oil filter and a sealing ring of round section.
  1. Tighten the top cover of an oil filter the required moment. Inhaling moment: 23–25 N • m.
  1. Establish a new copper washer on a stopper and screw a stopper in the lower aluminum cover. Inhaling moment: 8–10 N • m.
  2. Start the engine and check lack of leak of oil.
  3. After a stop of the engine check the level of oil and, if necessary, bring it to norm.
