18:15. Multipurpose switch

Removal and installation

At removal of the multipurpose switch on the cars equipped with a safety cushion be careful and satisfy the following conditions.

  1. Do not sort any of components of an auxiliary security system of SRS. Dismantling of components can put a security system out of action.
  2. Exclude hit on a safety cushion of solvents or the clearing substances.
  3. Transport the safety airbag separately, a bag up.
  4. If any SRS component fell or on it there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, an arm or the socket, replace them with new.
  5. When transporting do not place a hand on a safety cushion.
  6. Do not heat the safety cushion block to temperatures above 93 °C.
  7. After expansion of a safety cushion replace a spiral spring of the sensor with new.
  8. Before installation of a spiral spring of the sensor of a safety cushion combine a tag and the index of neutral provision of a spring of the sensor, previously having established forward wheels for the movement directly forward. If the tag of a spiral spring is not combined properly, the steering wheel will not be able to turn completely or the wire of a spiral spring will be damaged, complicating normal work of SRS.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a safety cushion of the driver.
  1. Remove a steering wheel.
  1. Turn out screws and remove the top and lower casings of a steering column.
  2. Turn out screws and remove the multipurpose switch.
  1. Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.

Check

With the multipurpose switch in each situation check conductivity between the corresponding contacts of sockets. If conductivity does not correspond to demanded, replace the multipurpose switch.
