14:14. Steering transfer


Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove an airintaking branch pipe.
  1. Remove clips of fastening of pressure head and returnable hoses to a case of steering transfer.
  2. Merge liquid from the hydraulic drive of the amplifier of steering.
  3. Disconnect pressure head and returnable hoses from a case of steering transfer.
  1. Turn out the bolt connecting the universal hinge and a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer.
  1. Remove a bracket, a dustproof cover and a plate of fastening of a cover.
  2. Lift the car.
  3. Remove forward wheels.
  1. Take forelocks and turn off nuts of fastening of pins of spherical hinges of tips of steering thirsts for rotary fists. A stripper 09568–31000 squeeze out pins of spherical hinges of tips of steering drafts from rotary fists.
  1. Remove the right arm of fastening of the stabilizer of cross stability.
  1. Disconnect the forward muffler.
  1. Turn out bolts and remove clips of fastening of steering transfer and pressure head and returnable tubes.
  1. Move steering transfer and get it on the right side of the car.

At removal of steering transfer be careful not to damage protective covers.

Check and preliminary adjustment before installation

Fix steering transfer in a vice which sponges are closed by soft material.


When fastening steering transfer in a vice wrap up steering transfer by fabric and be careful not to damage it at compression of a vice.

Preliminary loading of a gear wheel

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Measure preliminary loading, turning a gear wheel the special tool 09565-11100 on one turn each 4–6 pages. Also measure starting effort of a gear lath. Full preliminary loading of a gear wheel: 0,6–1,3 N • m.

Measure preliminary loading at full capacity of a gear lath.

  1. If preliminary loading does not correspond to the required values, first of all, adjust the moment of an inhaling of a stopper and repeatedly check preliminary loading of a gear wheel.
  2. If adjustment of the moment of an inhaling of a stopper does not yield positive results, check or replace stopper elements.

Resistance to a deviation of steering draft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make 10 deviations of steering draft.
  1. Measure by a dynamometer effort which needs to be put for a deviation of steering draft. Effort of a deviation of steering draft: 8–22 N.
  1. If the measured value exceeds nominal rate, replace knot of steering draft.

If the measured value below of nominal rate and steering draft turns smoothly and without side play, it can be installed on the car. However, if the measured value below of 4,3 N, replace steering draft.

Check of a corrugated protective cover

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Visually check a corrugated protective cover for absence of damage and deteriorations in its properties.
  2. Make sure that the protective cover is established in the correct situation.
  1. If the corrugated protective cover has defects, replace it.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a tip of steering draft from steering draft.
  1. Edge of the screw-driver remove a protective cover of the spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft.
  1. Remove a tape collar of fastening of a corrugated protective cover.
  1. Remove a clip of fastening of a corrugated protective cover.
  1. Move a corrugated protective cover to steering draft.

When replacing a corrugated protective cover check lack of a rust on steering transfer.

  1. Remove the directing pipe from a gear wheel case.
  2. At slow movement of a gear lath merge liquid from a case of steering transfer.

  1. Chisel remove a lock washer of fastening of steering thirst for a gear lath.
  1. Remove steering draft from a gear lath.

At removal of steering draft be careful not to turn a gear lath.

  1. Turn out a lock-nut of fastening of a stopper.
  1. Key on 14 mm turn out a stopper from the basis of steering transfer.
  1. Remove a spring, an emphasis and the plug from a case of steering transfer.
  1. Turn out two bolts and remove the valve case.
  1. Edge of the screw-driver turn a stopper of a gear lath clockwise until the end of a lock ring leaves a groove in a case of steering transfer.
  1. When the end of a lock ring leaves an opening of the case of the cylinder of a gear lath, an edge of the screw-driver turn a stopper of steering transfer counterclockwise and remove a lock ring.
  1. Remove a sealing ring of round section from the plug of a gear lath.
  1. Remove an oil sealing ring from the plug of a gear lath.
  1. The plastic hammer beat out the case the valve from a casing.
  1. The special tool 09565-21000 get oil consolidation and the ball bearing from the valve case.
  2. Remove the ball bearing from a case of steering transfer.

Be careful not to damage the valve cylinder in a case of steering transfer.

  1. Special tools 09573-21200, 09555-21000 remove oil consolidation from a case of steering transfer.

Be careful not to damage the cylinder of a gear lath in a case of steering transfer.

Check of a gear lath

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check a gear lath for absence of damage of teeths or their wear.
  2. Check the surfaces of contact of oil consolidation for absence of damage.
  3. Check a gear lath for lack of a deflection or twisting.
  4. Check a sealing ring of round section for absence of damage or wear.
  1. Check oil consolidation for absence of damage or wear.

Valve check of a gear wheel

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the gear wheel valve for absence of damage of teeths or their wear.
  2. Check the surfaces of contact of oil consolidation for absence of damage.
  3. Check a sealing ring for absence of damage or wear.
  1. Check oil consolidation for absence of damage or wear.

Check of the bearing

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the bearing for lack of jamming or extraneous noise at its rotation.
  2. Check the bearing for lack of an excessive side play.
  3. Check for lack of the needle bearing.

Other checks

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the surface of the cylinder of a case of steering transfer for absence of damage.
  2. Check a protective cover for absence of damage, aging and cracks.

Assembly

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Grease the surface of sliding of oil consolidation of a gear lath. The recommended lubricant: PSF–3.
  1. Establish the return washer and oil consolidation in a case of steering transfer to the situation shown in the drawing.
  1. Grease the surface of sliding of oil consolidation of the plug of a gear lath. The recommended lubricant: PSF–3.
  1. Install oil consolidation in the plug of steering transfer.
  1. Grease a sealing ring of round section and install it in the plug of a gear lath.
  2. Grease teeths of a gear lath. The recommended lubricant: SAE J310, NLGI No. 2.

Do not block lubricant an air vent in a gear lath.

  1. Establish a gear lath in a case of steering transfer. Then install the plug and a stopper of a gear lath.
  1. Press a stopper of a gear lath before emergence of a pro-point and, turning a stopper, establish a lock ring.

The lock ring should not be visible through an opening in a case of a gear lath.

  1. Install by the special tool oil consolidation and the ball bearing in the valve case.
  1. Oil also the recommended lubricant knot of the valve and establish it in a case of steering transfer.
  1. Oil and install by the special tool consolidation in the valve case. Establish valve case knot with a sealing ring in a case of steering transfer.
  1. Establish a lock washer and steering draft and in two places fuller a washer fillet.
  1. Combine short moustaches of a lock washer with dredging on a case of steering transfer.
  2. Always use a new lock washer.
  1. Install the plug, an emphasis and a spring in the order shown in the drawing. Before installation apply sealant on a carving part of a stopper.
  1. Establish a gear lath in the central situation and install the plug, an emphasis and a spring. Before installation apply sealant on a carving part of a stopper. The special tool tighten a stopper the moment of an inhaling of 15 N • m. Weaken a cover on 30-60 ° and tighten a lock-nut the required inhaling moment. Inhaling moment: 50–70 N • m.
  1. Tighten the directing pipe the required moment of an inhaling and establish a rubber element on glue.
  1. Apply lubricant on a corrugated protective cover and establish it in a flute of steering draft. The recommended lubricant: silicone lubricant.
  2. Fix by a new collar a corrugated protective cover.
  3. Check that the corrugated protective cover is not overwound.
  1. Fill a protective cover with lubricant, install it on the spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft and fix by a lock ring.

The recommended material:

A: POLY LUB GLY of 801 CB or equivalent
B: SHOWA SUNLIGHT MB2 or equivalent
Protective cover: THREE BOND

  1. Establish steering drafts so that length of the left and right steering drafts was identical. Length of steering drafts: 204,5 mm.
  1. Check preliminary loading of a gear wheel.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On the right side of the car establish steering transfer.
  1. Establish a dustproof cover and a plate.
  2. Fix a dustproof cover and a plate by a new collar.
  1. Connect a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer to a steering shaft.
  1. Further installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.
  2. Pump over the hydraulic drive of the amplifier of steering.
