11.9. Testing of collaboration of the automatic transmission and engine on the motionless car (F4A42)

Testing is carried out to determine the maximum frequency of rotation of the engine when the lever of the selector is installed in provisions "D" or "R", and also to check operation of the hydrotransformer, a starter and the unilateral coupling, and also the characteristic of couplings and brakes.

When performing testing nobody has to stand ahead of and behind the car.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before testing check levels of all operational liquids and, if necessary, bring them to normal.
    • Level of transmission liquid has to be about a tag of "NOTES" on the index.
    • Temperature of transmission liquid has to be in limits of 80-100 °C.
    • Temperature of cooling liquid is 80–100 °C.
  1. Establish a maple emphasis under back wheels.
  2. Tighten the parking brake and press a brake pedal.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Move the selector lever to a D position. The left leg press against the stop a brake pedal, and the right leg smoothly press an accelerator pedal. When the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine does not increase any more, read indications of a tachometer and release an accelerator pedal.

  1. For an exception of damage of the transmission you hold testing during 8 pages.
  2. If it is necessary to hold more than one testing at the working engine move the selector lever to a N position and leave the engine to work at the frequency of rotation of idling before cooling of transmission liquid. Operation of the engine at a frequency of rotation of idling cools transmission liquid and prevents deterioration in its properties.

A4AF3: 2200–2800 min. –1

  1. Similarly hold testing in position "R" of the lever of the selector.

Analysis of results of testing

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is higher than the specification in a D and R position.
    • Low pressure in the pipeline.
    • Slipping of brake tapes on low transfer and transfer of a backing.
  2. Frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is higher than the specification only in a D position.
    • Slipping of coupling of the lowering transfer.
  3. If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is higher than the specification only in a R position.
    • Slipping of coupling of a backing.
  4. If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is lower than the specification in a D and R position.
    • Damage of the hydrotransformer.
    • Insufficient engine capacity
